The Capitol Showband had a thriving Fan Club, thanks to the efforts of their two secretaries, Maire Hurley and Monica Mc Nelis. The were responsible for sorting out the piles of letters the ever popular Capitol were receiving daily. In 1963 Monica and Maire were the instigators of a souvenier glossy booklet entitled "At Home and Abroad with the Capitols", the first of its kind ever produced by a Showband..The images on this page are taken from that publication showing the bands activities in the early 60s. Also on this page are various images taken by English photographer Denis Romer, from newspapers in the mid 60s when the band was at its height, and some photos kindly donated to the site by Capitol fans. This page will be updated on a regular basis as new material comes to light.
